“Why do you cry?”
“It’s not like I want to cry. It just happens.”
“But generally, crying is a form of emotional release…right?”
“Generally.”
“But I think it’s different for you.”
“How so?”
“I think you cry just to taste your tears. I don’t think you’re truly upset. You cry just to have the flavor of salt lave across your tongue and stimulate your taste buds. You cry because you want something, want to accomplish something. Not from emotion.”
“I don’t know whether to call you a genius or an insufferable ass, honestly.”
“It’s all right. Because I’m insufferable to draw emotion out of others. I’m insufferable for a cause, annoying for a reason. You? You cry for leverage.”
“Who are you to say something like that?”
“The insufferable ass…or did you forget?”
